We are absolutely ecstatic about Dance Marathon 2007 and would like to take this opportunity to announce some of our goals for this year. Our primary focus this year will be the children we will be helping. It is so easy to get caught up in organizing an event and lose track of the meaning behind Dance Marathon. This year we will do our best to remember that everything we do is “For the Kids.” We will incorporate more hospital visits and design more activities to keep the children involved in some of the aspects of DM 2007. We are going to do our best to increase community involvement and awareness this year. We are excited to announce a change that we think will help us to reach this goal: Dance Marathon 2007 will span 12 hours rather than 24. This was a difficult decision for us as directors, but we believe that by having a 12-hour event we will increase profit and participation. We are in the process of designing several new events to make DM 2007 the most profitable and rewarding Dance Marathon in Mizzou’s history. We hope that the new and altered events will help us to raise even more money than last year’s record breaking total of over $30,000. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
