UNIVERSITY CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL

Children's Hospital at University Hospital and clinics is mid-Missouri's largest and most comprehensive pediatric health care facility.

The "hospital within a hospital" has more than 100 beds dedicated exclusively to neonatal, pediatric and adolescent care. The hospital includes a 36-bed neonatal intensive care unit and an 11-bed pediatric intensive care unit, the most sophisticated units available in mid-Missouri. Children's Hospital also offers an adolescent unit, a short stay center/day of surgery admission unit and a general pediatrics unit.

Other unique services include an in-hospital school program, child-life therapists, a neonatal transport team and a specially equipped pediatrics ambulance. In addition, pediatric rehabilitation services are provided by Rusk Rehabilitation Center. Children's Hospital shares University Hopsital's Level One Trauma Center and the Staff for Life helicopter service.

Children's Hospital has more than 30 pediatric specialties, including the region's only pediatric surgeons. The staff has been specially trained to meet the physical and emotional needs of children.
